Events
dcarbon8 hosts regular Supply Chain Network events. The events bring together our members who have Planet Positive businesses, services or products. You will be able to network with like-minded companies and work together to create Planet Positive (carbon negative) supply chains.
These events allow you to turn your green credentials into new business opportunities that are good for the planet. The more businesses come together, the faster we will be able to drive the transition to a low-carbon world.
Come and join us at the next event. If you would like to find out more please email info@dcarbon8.com.
June 23, 2008 - Inaugural dcarbon8 Supply Chain Network Meeting
Top company executives stood shoulder to shoulder on stage at the first dcarbon8 Supply Chain Network event, replicating the supply chain that has delivered 22,000 tonnes of carbon vouchers to Sainsbury’s. The Planet Positive/carbon negative supply chain was created by dcarbon8 and commercial property developer, ProLogis, in the construction of the Sainsbury’s distribution centre at Pineham, Northants.
The ‘live’ supply chain took place at the HQ of office furniture and interiors specialist, Haworth, and attracted over 120 representatives of companies in the dcarbon8 membership network.
A who’s who of companies committed to making real carbon reductions by working together, the event attracted attendees from Sainsbury’s, ProLogis, Lend Lease, SEGRO, the Building Research Establishment, the Carbon Trust, Eurostar, Skanska and many other well known businesses.
Following presentations from Guy Battle (dcarbon8 Founder) and Andy Marris (CEO), members and guests were encouraged to find mutual business interests.
“Through simple things like lighting, air compression surveys and looking at the motors that run our manufacturing services, we’ve seen automatically that there’s a financial gain and an environmental gain. It’s definitely been a very worthwhile process, both economically and environmentally.”
Seamus Cussen, Kingspan Insulated Panels, at the Inaugural Supply Chain Network meeting.
